This is the amount of traffic to your web site
which we allow you to have free of charge (sometimes referred to as bandwidth). Web
hosts measure their traffic volume in the amount of data transferred, as opposed to
number of hits or impressions. This is because a web site with, for example, large graphic
files or complicated applications like real audio or video will utilize a lot more
bandwidth than a simple, text-based site.
Our traffic allowances are very generous by industry standards (just
check other hosts). Less than 1% of our customers even come close to our
allowances. Don't be fooled by web hosts that say they offer unlimited bandwidth.
No one can offer this. All servers are limited to a certain level of traffic
before they start losing performance or shut down completely. Because so few web
sites use tremendous bandwith, some hosts pretend they can offer it on an unlimited basis
since few customers will ever discover the truth. We are just honest about it.
If you should go over our limits, we won't immediately charge you. We will
simply discuss what other options are available.

The Internet works through a series of IP numbers, such as
208.230.196.32. When you enter a domain name, servers in the Internet translate that
name into numbers. Before you actually reach a site, you are transferred between
many different IP numbers. In the early days of the Internet, every domain had its
own unique IP number. This is no longer the case, as many domains can share an IP
number. However, when shared IP addresses began, many older browsers were unable to
resolve a shared address because the browser was expecting a unique IP number.
Now, those browsers a practically non-existent. Search engines,
which also had problems resolving shared IP addresses, have recently
updated their technology to deal with this issue.
However, having a dedicated IP address still affords
you the fastest possible connection to your site as the IP address will
only be handling one site.

extra charge if you purchase the certificates through us. (We can
install certificates from other companies for a small fee)
