Frequently Ask Questions about the Value Plan
1. What Platform does this plan use?
This is a UNIX (Linux) server.
These are high-quality, Cobalt RaQ servers, which provide top-level
performance. If you are concerned about using UNIX
rather than Windows, click here.
2. Aside from the
disk space and transfer allowance, what is the difference between
the Value Plan and Premium Plan 1 for
Linux?
There are a few differences that you
should consider in choosing between the two plans.
All of our Premium Plans include
detailed traffic reports. These reports show a great
deal of information about your site's visitors, and some of our
clients like the information these reports provide. Under the
Value Plan, you get only very basic traffic reports which tell you
how many people have visited your site, what pages they've viewed,
what browsers they've used, etc. For many customers, this is
enough. On the Value Plan, you still have full access to
your raw logs, which you can analyze with most any log
analysis program on the market.
The Premium plans also come with
more POP e-mail boxes, and their e-mail system is slightly more
flexible. The Value Plan limits you to 10 users.
However, you can create multiple aliases for each user.
If you anticipate only needing a few accounts, or if
you plan to have your mail forwarded, the Value Plan will work fine
for you.
3. What if I go over my
monthly transfer allowance?
The 2500 MB transfer allowance is
quite generous, and few of our customers exceed this limit. If
you go over this allowance, we will ask you to upgrade to a Premium
Plan.
4. What if I go over
the storage limit.
You will need to
upgrade to Plan 1.
5. If I decide to
upgrade, is there a charge?
There is no charge for an upgrade
(outside of the higher fee for the hosting plan).
However, upgrading to a Premium Plan
might require moving to a different server. So keep this in
mind when you consider which plan to choose.
